For cats in particular, I tried this shot (the photo was then cropped to show face) this "trick" to capture a cat without a "crush" la foto (dato che il gatto è più vicino di noi al pavimento) è bene abbassarsi (in ginocchio, contorti, sdraiati) ad altezza di gatto...
Un'alternativa che viene in mente a me è prendere il gatto (che non è un elefante) di peso e metterlo in posizione utile per lo scatto (es. su un divano, una poltrona, un tavolo). Ma ovviamente il micio in quel caso sarà teso, e la foto non verrà naturale come nel caso tocchi a noi "abbassarci" al suo livello...
