Until recently I always used the automatic, with inconclusive results.
Sometimes, then, I ended up accidentally shooting the wrong color and had to throw away. I never imagined that a white balance guessed could determine the quality of a picture, not just its color.
So I think I will try to work as much as possible, especially during shooting but also in development in corrections.
Now that I've learned a bit 'more of the manual I am much, much better than with automatic balancing ...
